Location: Newmarket, Suffolk.  Simon Crisford was Sheikh Mohammed’s racing manager for many years before he set up as a trainer with his first season of runners in 2015.

He has been remarkably successful since then training over seventy winners in 2018, with a very healthy strike rate of 21%, a figure he has matched again so far in 2019 following a move to Gainsborough Stables in Newmarket in June.  Facilities at his new yard, from where Ouija Board was trained, are fabulous. 

Supported by the Maktoum family and many other leading owners, Simon has demonstrated that he can train at the very highest level with a number of Group winners including Ostilio winning the Daniel Wildenstein (Group 2).

The standard-bearer in 2019 has been the leading sprint 2yo A’Ali, a triple Group 2 winner including at Royal Ascot. Simon is meticulous with his planning and together with his son Ed always provides the warmest of welcomes at his stables.
