Ben Pauling

Ben Pauling is Gloucestershire born and bred. Starting his career as assistant to multiple champion winning trainer Nicky Henderson, no doubt provided a solid foundation to what is fast becoming a formidable training career. 

Ben took out his training license in 2013 and since then has made a name for himself in his own right in the National Hunt scene. The rate at which his operation has grown was highlighted in 2022 when Ben moved to a brand new, state of the art, training facility, Naunton Downs. Nestled in the rolling hills of The Cotswolds countryside, the gallops, owners area and stables are second to none and this, combined with the friendly and personable approach from Ben, his wife Sophie and his dedicated team, makes visits to this yard particularly special. 

Since the move, Ben has made extraordinary strides. Last season he was just shy of 100 winners, at a 20% winner to runner ratio, and earning over £1 million in prize money for the last three consecutive seasons.  

Despite his short career, Ben is already a five time Cheltenham Festival winning trainer, with Willoughby Court, Le Breuil, Global Citizen, Shakem Up'Arry and most recently Meetmebythesea. Ben also trains King George winner The Jukebox Man. With such momentum behind him, it will be no surprise to see him continue to add to that haul.
