ED WALKER
Location: Lambourn, Berkshire. The training ranks are a constantly evolving, vibrant collection of talented individuals and each year we look to add an up and coming trainer to our syndicates. Ed Walker struck out on his own in 2010 when his first runner, Riggins, won the Listed Hyde Stakes at Kempton.
Ed then experienced difficult times being obliged to relocate on five occasions in six years. But he never took his eye off his goal to be a top-flight trainer. His victory in the Group 3 Lexus, one of Australia’s top races with Ruscelo was testament to that determination and his enterprise. Ed’s journey took in Sir Henry Cecil’s famous Warren Place and he has now found a permanent base at the magnificent Kingsdown Stables in Lambourn.
His string has increased to over a hundred horses with Stormy Antarctic the flag bearer. Stormy Antarctic has done his share of travelling too – worldwide - winning three Group events and placed in a Group 1.
