TAITTINGER MOMENT

ISIDORE’s 100th Winner!

Frances de Haan

Smiles all round for Isidore’s 100th winner!

Taittinger moment this month was secured by Isidore who reached a century of winners and 54 with Highclere when Respond put in a determined effort to get his head in front at Haydock last weekend.

100 wins is a serious milestone with over 50% of these with Highclere we are all very thankful and appreciative of his loyalty with us. Let’s make it 100 winners with Highclere next!!

Please see some words from Isidore below:

‘I never thought I’d reach such a landmark when I first started owning racehorses as it is so hard to win races particularly at the highest level. It has been an incredible journey so far and long may it continue.

My first Highclere yearling parade was in 2009 and my first syndicate with two racehorses Firebeam (Haggas) & Deity (Noseda). Both never made it to the track as 2yos but Diety was my first Highclere winner at the Newmarket Craven meeting in April 2011 ridden by Ryan Moore. My very first winner though was a horse called Halyard at Kempton in September 2010 trained by the late Walter Swinburn but we’re probably not allowed to mention that!

Past favourites include Mam’selle, Ascension,Title and Lysander. The last two were particularly talented and were placed 3rd in the King Edward VII at Royal Ascot in consecutive years. Tragically they both suffered life ending injuries and we never saw them at their very best as 4yos (what might have been).

Current favourites are Soprano who took me on such an incredible journey both here and across the pond and Merchant who is proving to be such an exciting prospect and could take me across the channel for the Arc! Awaken too who is very much going ithe right way…her 2nd place on her second run in the Albany was some performance.

If I'm allowed to mention a non Highclere favourite racehorse it has to be The Tin Man. A three times Group I winner and placed at the highest level on numerous occasions.

You’ve got to aim very high to get anywhere so future targets include a winner in a Classic, the Arc or both and to get 100 Highclere winners (only 46 to go).’

Respond lands the prize at Haydock to secure Isidore’s 100th winner!
